Walking Under the Dancing Spirits
Have you walked under the dancing spirits? That is how I felt on a cold winter night, staring into the Alaskan skies and looking at the dancing Aurora Borealis . During our 4 night stay, we missed seeing them for the first two nights in a row. The third night it snowed in, the snowfall was so heavy that the sky was not visible, but I knew that I would experience it. All our hopes were pinned on the last night to see the northern lights . I dreaded flying back 8 hours thinking we didn't see it. If the spirits believed I was worth their time, they would appear in full glory; if not, I probably didn't deserve to witness the spectacular event. We drove far north on the fourth night, and an open house was our den for the night. It took us some time to reach the right location, to find one of the most fascinating natural phenomena, and then it came to its full glory as though the spirits were blessing us in its full galore.
